ASIAN PROFESSIONALS NATIONAL ALLIANCE

Asian Professionals’ National Alliance (APNA NHS) is a voluntary organisation constituting health and social care professionals of South Asian heritage working in the NHS and Local Authorities. APNA NHS aspires to amplify South Asian voices, influence policies, promote the values of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and champion health equity. Dedicated to addressing health inequalities, combating racism, and ensuring equal representation, APNA NHS is a catalyst for change. Through collaboration, we celebrate our cultural diversity, striving for a more inclusive NHS that values and benefits from our shared experiences for the benefit of patients and carers.

APNA NHS is formed of South Asian Heritage NHS health and social care workers and acts as a platform for us to have our collective voices heard through collaboration and active engagement.

APNA NHS’s members are passionate about using our network to influence, impact and create positive change for minority communities of South Asian heritage. We care deeply about patient care as well as the welfare, health, and wellbeing of all our NHS staff. Chair’s End Of Year Message

Dear APNA NHS Members,

As we come to the close of another remarkable year, the APNA NHS Executive Team would like to pause and extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. Your unwavering commitment, generosity of spirit, and dedication to our shared mission continue to be the driving force behind everything we do. It is your passion, resilience, and service that give APNA NHS its strength and purpose.

Reflecting on 2025, we are deeply conscious of the extraordinary legacy entrusted to us by our former executives.

Under the visionary leadership of Professor Jagtar Singh, Asma Nafees, and the National Teams, APNA NHS has grown in both influence and impact. Their tireless efforts, clarity of purpose, and commitment to excellence laid the foundations upon which we proudly continue to build. We remain steadfast in our responsibility to honour and carry forward their work with integrity, compassion, and determination.

As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with humility and resolve. While much has been achieved, we recognise that important work remains. Please be assured that the Executive Team, alongside our wider leadership, remains fully committed to advancing the key priorities already underway—most notably the work of the Governance Review Team—to ensure APNA NHS continues to evolve as a strong, transparent, and future-focused organisation.

With your continued engagement, collaboration, and trust, we are confident that together we will further strengthen our impact and deepen our service to the communities we represent and support.

The festive season offers us a valuable moment to reflect on how far we have come and to renew our energy for the journey ahead. We are genuinely excited about the opportunities, challenges, and successes that 2026 will bring.

Your voices, ideas, and support will remain central as we write the next chapter of APNA NHS’s growth and contribution.

On behalf of the Executive Team, we would like to wish you and your loved ones Seasons greetings and a Happy New Year. May this season bring you rest, joy, and time to reflect and recharge. We look forward to an inspiring, productive, and impactful 2026—working together in unity and purpose.

Thank you once again for your dedication, trust, and belief in APNA NHS.

With warmest regards and heartfelt appreciation,

Dr Tanvir Alam
On behalf of the APNA NHS Executive Team
